HMIS software in India, built for Indian hospitals
Included in: Standalone Modules · OPD + IPD · Full Suite See pricing
Built for Indian hospitals, not adapted for them
Most of what makes hospital software hard in India is local. Invoices must carry HSN codes for GST. Invoice numbers have to restart with the April to March financial year so your CA can reconcile them. Insurance patients arrive through TPAs with cashless files, pre-authorisations and rejections to track. Tapti HMIS handles all of it out of the box, because it was designed around the way Indian hospitals actually work.
Automation runs on Indian time too. Every morning at 5:00 AM IST, Tapti posts the day's room and bed charges for every admitted patient, and if a run was missed, it catches up when the system next starts. Doctor revenue sharing is computed, not guessed. Daily balance reports show collections by user, doctor, date and payment type, whether that payment came in cash, card, UPI or cheque.

Three products, one ecosystem
Tapti Technology builds three products that work together: Tapti HMIS for the hospital, Tapti Laboratory for diagnostic work from sample registration to verified report, and Tapti Pharmacy for retail and in-hospital dispensing. Tapti Pharmacy is bundled in the Full Suite. On other packages it can be added as a sister product.
That means one vendor, one support desk and one patient record across the hospital, the lab and the pharmacy counter. A prescription written in the OPD can reach the pharmacy counter without leaving the system, and lab charges land on the same bill as the consultation.
ABDM, built into registration
Tapti HMIS is officially ABDM-integrated for milestones M1, M2 and M3, listed by the National Health Authority as an ABDM integration partner (integration completed 18 Sep 2026).
M1 covers ABHA creation and verification at registration. M2 covers linking and sharing health records as a Health Information Provider, so the hospital's electronic health records can be shared through ABDM with the patient's consent. M3 covers requesting records with patient consent as a Health Information User. ABHA is created, verified or linked on the same registration screen the front desk already uses.
ABDM is not the same thing as PM-JAY. Scheme claims are filed on the government's own PM-JAY portal, and Tapti HMIS does not submit claims there. What it does is keep the admission, the clinical record, uploaded documents and a matching IPD invoice complete in one place, so the paperwork a claim depends on is ready.
At the front desk, on the ward
Tapti HMIS runs in the browser, so the same system works at the reception counter, in the doctor's cabin and at the bedside.
Printed OPD tokens
Reception registers a walk-in or a booked patient and prints an OPD token, so every patient leaves the desk holding a number.
OPD moduleTV queue display
The token queue shows on a TV in the waiting area. The TV and printer are your hospital's own hardware; ask in the demo what your setup needs.
OPD moduleLive patient calling
The doctor calls the next patient from the cabin, and reception sees appointment and status changes live, without an intercom.
OPD moduleTablet at the bedside
Doctors and nurses can use Tapti HMIS on a tablet, on ward rounds or at the bedside, with the same role-based access as any other screen.
IPD modulePrints the hospital needs
Discharge cards in 15+ formats, IPD invoices and financial summaries, operation notes, claim forms, lab reports and patient stickers.
Documents on the record
Upload images and documents against the IPD record. Doctor photos, digital signatures and the hospital logo live in the same system.
Security, roles and a full audit trail
Hospital data is sensitive. Tapti keeps every screen behind a role and every change on the record.
Role templates
Define roles once for doctors, nurses, reception, billing, lab and administrators, then assign them to users and staff types.
User Management modulePer-screen permissions
Set View, Add, Edit and Delete separately for every form. The sidebar only shows each user what they are allowed to use.
Authenticated access
Every user signs in, and every action is checked against that user's role before it runs.
Audit trail
Every create, update and delete across the system is logged in a detailed audit trail, so you can see who changed what.
Duplicate merge
A built-in merge utility cleans up duplicate patient and doctor records, so one patient keeps one history.
Cloud backups
Cloud deployments are managed by Tapti Technology with daily backups. On-premise is supported where your infrastructure or compliance needs it.
How to compare HMIS companies in India
A demo dashboard tells you little. Ask these questions of every HMIS company you shortlist, including us.
- Does billing follow Indian rules?Look for HSN codes for GST and invoice numbering that resets with the April to March financial year. Tapti does both out of the box.
- Are TPA and cashless claims built into IPD?If your hospital admits insurance patients, cashless files need to sit on the admission. Tapti tracks cashless files per admission and links them to the IPD invoice.
- Do room charges post themselves?Tapti applies room and bed charges for every admitted patient at 5:00 AM IST each day, and recovers any run it missed.
- Can the IPD record fit your specialties?Tapti's 19 IPD sub-modules are configurable, so each ward switches on the records it actually keeps.
- Who sees what?Granular role-based permissions, down to View, Add, Edit and Delete per screen, keep billing, clinical and admin data with the right people.
- Can you bring your old data?Tapti supports patient bulk import from Excel, and the team plans migration of billing history and master data with you.
- Where do support issues go?Tapti logs every issue in a ticket system built into the software, with CRM sync, instead of a phone call or a chat thread.
- Is the price public?Tapti publishes its starting prices, so you know the range before the first call.

On-site training, anywhere in India
Tapti Technology works from Surat, Gujarat, and the team does on-site implementation and training at hospitals anywhere in India. Setup happens where your reception, wards and billing desk actually work, not over a screen share.
Training is role-based. Reception, doctors, nurses, lab technicians, billing staff and administrators each learn the screens they use, with printed reference guides to keep at the desk. After go-live, every question goes through the support ticket system inside Tapti HMIS, so it is logged, tracked and visible until it is closed.
