What drives the price of hospital software
Hospital software in India is priced on four things. The first is bed count, because beds decide how many admissions, room charges and discharge bills the system carries. The second is modules: a clinic needs OPD, a nursing home needs OPD and IPD, and a full hospital needs lab, pharmacy, OT, insurance and inventory as well.
The third is users. A standalone module covers up to 3 users, enough for a clinic's reception and doctors. Hospitals with many departments need many logins, each with its own permissions. The fourth is deployment: cloud deployments are managed by Tapti Technology with daily backups, while on-premise suits hospitals whose infrastructure or compliance needs it.
Data migration and training also count. Patients come in through the built-in Excel bulk import, while billing history and master data follow a migration plan agreed with the team. Tapti's Surat team does on-site implementation and role-based training anywhere in India.
Costs to ask every vendor about
A low first-year price can hide a high total. Ask these before you sign, including with us.
- Is GST included in the quote?Tapti's published prices are GST extra, and the quote says so.
- How many users are included?Per-user charges add up quickly in a hospital with shifts.
- What does the renewal cost?Compare the second and third year, not just the first.
- Which features are paid add-ons?With Tapti, ABDM integration and WhatsApp Business integration are paid add-ons, charged separately on any package.
- Who pays for hardware?Token printers, the waiting-area TV and computers are the hospital's own. Ask in the demo what your setup needs.
- Is training on site?Remote-only training is cheaper to sell and slower to adopt.
Why free hospital software costs more
Searches for free hospital management software and free downloads are common, and they make sense for a student project. For a working hospital, the cost often shows up elsewhere: no one to call when billing stops at 9 PM, no GST and HSN setup, no TPA workflow, no backups, and no one to train the night-shift nurse.
The price of hospital software is small next to one missed bed-day per patient, one unadjusted deposit or one rejected insurance claim. Software that closes those leaks pays for itself in the first months. That is the comparison to make, not the sticker price.
